so many blessings

Hola!

I hope you all are doing great and that you have been blessed this week! I have had an incredibly busy week, but God has stood beside me in all of it and has opened my eyes to see him in a much bigger way.

This past week we have been blessed by joining with a team from Georgia. They have stayed here the past 7 days and we have done all of our ministry together. The president of Helping Hands was here as well leading our new extended team members. He took us to a handful of wonderful ministries all over Cochabamba. Oh and side note, Helping Hands is the organization responsible for building the camp we are staying at here in Bolivia.

This week was a huge blessing to me especially because of all the time we were able to spend with kids! Just spending the time we had with kids from various orphanages showed me that God works in amazing ways. The JOY and PURE love from these children was so Christ-like and something we need to humble ourselves to. They have nothing, well nothing we consider valuable here on this earth, yet they have the amazing love of God shining through them that unfortunately I’m not gifted enough to describe right here in a blog.

The ministry that especially touched my heart this week was when we went to an all girls orphanage here in Cochabamba. The second, literally second we opened the doors to our vans we each had several girls greeting us with a smile from ear to ear and hugs. The girls only knew that we were here to see them, and they gave us such a lovely greeting. I wish I could show Gods love in that way, to look at everyone as he sees us, and treat everyone with that kind of passion.

So a background on this orphanage… These girls were all rescued off of the streets or from abusive homes. The woman in charge of these girls is actually in a wheelchair because of here lifelong crippling from polio. She has such a huge heart and has saved so many girls from horrible evil situations that this world is full of.

Looking back on this week there are so many stories I could share, and it is hard for me to not just tell you all about the different places we went and details just about the amazing team from Georgia! I can share with you though that I have learned how BIG our God is. He is not just in church, and not just in bible studies, he is in the hearts of children, and southerners with funny Spanish accents, and Bolivians who open their homes to silly Americans and he is our creator!

Thanks for reading this long train of thought, I hope I’ve given you a little picture of the BIG things God is doing down here in Bolivia!

Amanda
