Familia y Amigos!
This past week has flown by once again! My team celebrated 4th of July with Roman candles, sparklers, and some Bolivian version hamburgers. It was great and such a fun time bonding with the girls.
We had an overnight camp for the children that go to Casa de Amested. Their mothers who were not in jail were also here visiting. These kids had so much excitement for the week. Our rooms we stay at here are in a house across the street from the actual camp. The first morning the kids spent here started way before we had scheduled. I was woken up by shouts of coming from kids running around at the break of dawn on the play structures. Games of soccer were going on, kids climbing the jungle gym, swing sets holding niños as they flew into the air. This was a beautiful way to wake up. These kids used this entire week to its fullest. They had a break from their lives living in the prisons and ran wild around our camp.
So my team has decided that I finally found my long lost daughter this week during camp. Her name is Britany, she’s 2 years 4 months old, and she resembles me by her dark hair and eyes. Britany made me smile every time I looked her precious little face. Here actual mom was here this week though so that did make it reality that I couldn’t sneak her home with me to California. She is only 26 and has 4 kids under the age of 4. I was so grateful we were able to invest into these kids this week, and also build relationships with some of the mothers.
I want to thank you all for reading our team blogs! Its so encouraging hearing feedback about how our stories affect each of you!
